A gentler way to stay smooth

Hi, I’m Jess, the founder of Sugar House Wax Studio. With 10 years of experience in the beauty industry and a licensed cosmetologist background, I believe hair removal should be more than just a service, it should be a self-care experience. My mission is to provide a judgement free space where you can relax, be yourself, and leave feeling your absolute best.
Sugaring is a natural method of hair removal that uses a simple paste made from sugar, lemon, and water to gently remove hair from the root.
Unlike traditional waxing, the sugar paste is applied at body temperature and removed in the same direction of hair growth. This makes it less painful, more gentle on the skin, and less likely to cause irritation, ingrown hairs, or breakage.
Since it only sticks to the hair (not live skin cells), sugaring is often a great option for people with sensitive skin or those looking for a more natural alternative to waxing.
Over time, many people notice that the hair grows back softer, finer, and sparser with consistent sugaring. This is your sign to ditch the razor and give sugaring a try; you won't regret it!

Most clients find sugaring to be less panful than traditional waxing. Since the hair is removed in the natural direction of growth and then paste doesn't stick to live skin, it tends to feel gentler and causes less irritation. With consistent appointments, many clients also notice that the process becomes more comfortable over time.
The duration of a sugaring session depends on the area being sugared. An area like the brazilian can take around 15-20 minutes, while a larger area like the legs can take up to an hour.
For best results, hair should be about the length of a grain of rice (around 1/8 inch). This usually means about 2 weeks of hair growth after shaving.
Gently exfoliate 24-48 hours before your visit, avoid lotions or oils on the day of your appointment, and wear comfortable clothing. Staying hydrated also helps with results!
Avoid hot baths, saunas, sweating, and tight clothing for 24-48 hours. Start gentle exfoliation a few of times a week and make sure to moisturize skin daily to help prevent ingrown hairs.
Yes, you can still get sugared during your cycle. Just wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup and know sensitivity may be slightly higher during this time.
